Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to see the world. Perhaps it was the books I read, about people that were so different from me, and their kingdom from far-away land. Perhaps it was my way of wanting to run away from all my troubled past, of all the unhappiness I felt as a child.
I only started backpacking when I was 30, and I fell in love with the idea of solo and independent traveling. I fell in love with the locals that I met along the way and the ones that I have yet to meet. I fell in love with the air that greeted me when I get off the plane. I fell in love with the hospitality that the locals has bestowed upon me regardless of our skin color and the language that we speak.
So after pondering and talking about this for a couple of years, I've finally decided to take a year off to travel the world. YES! 10 months from now, I will quit my 9-5 job and all the luxury that comes with it and carry my life on a backpack. (Funny at this point of writing I am actually grinning from ear to ear!)
The thought of taking a year off to travel still seem daunting at times. Especially the idea of not knowing. But that's what life is all about isn't it. Its not that we are all born with a crystal ball to predict the future. I mean, if we can brace ourselves to live lifetime full of uncertainty, I don't see why I can't brace myself to take a year off to travel.
So here it is. My travel list. Wish me luck!
